What is today Jiangxi Blue Sky University began in 1994 as a secondary vocational school and had an enrollment of 800 students。It became Jiangxi Southeast Training Institute in 1996 and the following year was chosen by the central government to participate in their private college pilot program。In 1999 it became the only private institution in Jiangxi to be granted permission by the Ministry of Education to award associates’ degrees, and in March of 2005, Blue Sky University was evaluated and approved by the Ministry of Education to award full bachelors’ degrees。
Yu Guo, institutional founder and board chairman, a member of both the 9th and 10th People’s Congresses, one of the “Ten Outstanding Youths of China,” a “Model Worker of China,” and recipient of the “Excellent Builder of Chinese Socialism Award,” has been received by President Hu Jintao and other central government leaders。 Premier Wen Jiabao gave the institution the motto, “Qiu Zhen Wu Shi”: “Seek the Truth, Work Effectively.” Successful by all accounts, Blue Sky University has been recognized by the municipal, provincial, and central governments and received many awards, such as the “National Award for Excellence in Vocational Education。”
Blue Sky has abundant teaching resources and employs more than 2,000 full-time and part-time teachers.? It has more than 46,000 full-time students, from 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions and representing 19 ethnic minorities, making Blue Sky the largest private university in China。
Blue Sky’s two beautifully landscaped and arranged campuses, Yaohu and Jingdong, cover more than 150 hectares (370 acres) and its buildings 1,020,000 m2.Its advanced teaching facilities, its more than 120 laboratories and various workshops, and its Digital Applied Technology Training Center with national certification pending all comprise Blue Sky’s excellent academic environment.? All of the majors offered at Blue Sky specially prepare students for careers and jobs that are in demand today.Utilizing various and flexible educational methods, Blue Sky has contracts with companies and employers and offers specific job training and vocational qualification and licensing programs to provide students with practical skills and abilities.Moreover, about 97% of Blue Sky’s 80,000 total graduates are gainfully employed.Because of “their commitment to their work, wide-ranging, practical abilities, and their flexibility,” graduates have received high praise from their employers.In 2004, two Jiangxi Education Department evaluations, the “Vocational University Education Evaluation” and the “Graduate Employment Rate Evaluation” both gave Blue Sky University excellent marks。
Blue Sky considers the construction of the Party to be very important, and in 2001 established its own Party Committee, which has received the “Communist Party Grassroots Excellence Award” and has 359 members.In addition, the Communist Youth League of China has recognized Blue Sky University’s chapter, which has 30,000 members, with the “May Fourth Red Flag Award.”

2. Location
Nanchang’s origins go back to the Western Han Dynasty. It’s a prosperous, inland city, the only provincial capital on the Beijng-Kowloon Railway. As the capital of Jiangxi Province, Nanchang is the political, economic and cultural center of Jiangxi Province and one of the 35 largest cities in China.
Since ancient times, Nanchang has been economically and culturally prosperous and has long enjoyed the reputation for encouraging the development of outstanding & talented people.
Nanchang is one of the famous national historical and cultural cities, and is the birthplace of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army as well. It enjoys the honor of being known as the ‘Heroic City’ and ‘The Sacred Place Where the “August First” Army Flag Rose’. Within its boundaries, there are numerous lakes and rivers. Its climate is humid and mild. As a subtropical monsoon region, it has plenty of rainfall with four distinctive seasons. In addition, it boasts a national forest park and one of 13 national summer resorts.
Nanchang is rich in tourist resources with a great deal of beautiful natural scenery, numerous artificial scenic spots and over 600 cultural sites。
Our city is also on the State Council list of famous national historical and cultural cities. Over 50 places are listed as key cultural relics sites under the special protection of the state, the province and the city.
In addition, the tourist resources of Nanchang have been divided into four unique parts. They are the “historical and cultural tour” with the Tengwang Pavilion very famous in the south of the Yangtze River and the famous Badashanren Museum in memory of the great Chinese painter Zhu Da in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties as representatives, the “traditional red tour” with the “August First” Uprising Museum and some minors as representatives, the “green tour” with the Hundred Flower Islet and Xiangshan Forest Park as representatives and the “unique tour” with the “desert in the green land” and the “paradise of migratory birds in urban area” of Houtian Township and the Tianxiang Park as representatives.
Jiangxi itself is abundant in tourism resources. The Lushan Mountains, a national scenic spot and historical site, has been listed as a world heritage site by the UN, Poyang Lake is a nationally protected sanctuary for wild migrants in China.
